Cleaning and Sanitization:

  1. Cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer will be available in all class areas to encourage frequent and thorough hygiene by both teachers and students.

  2. Parents are responsible for supervising their children while in the bathroom to ensure compliance with hand-washing and maintain a tidy facility.

Sickness and Exposure:

  1. If anyone in your household has been exposed to CoVid-19, stay home from co-op to ensure symptoms do not develop.

  1. If anyone in your household shows symptoms of CoVid-19 including fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste/smell, your family is required to stay home from co-op until symptoms resolve or a negative Covid-19 test result can be provided.

  2. If symptoms consistent with CoVid-19 or other infectious disease develop during the co-op day, your family will be required to leave.

  3. If co-op facilitators or board members suspect a participant may be ill, you will be asked to consent to a temperature reading with a touchless thermometer.

Contact Tracing:

  2. If there is a confirmed case of CoVid-19 within your student’s class(es), you will be notified.

  3. The specific identity of the affected minor attendee(s) will not be disclosed.

Closures:

  1. In the event that Sarasota or Manatee County School Districts close due to an infectious disease outbreak, SCLP will also close.

  2. In the event of guidance from the State or Federal government suggesting or requiring closure, SCLP will close.

  3. In the event of a CoVid-19 outbreak within our SCLP community, SCLP will close.

Liability Release:

  1. CoVid-19 is an unfolding global pandemic wherein exists an inherent risk of disease exposure in any public and/or community areas.

  2. SCLP is not liable for any exposure or illness resulting from participation in our co-op.

All SCLP members, teachers, and guests for the Spring 2022 semester must agree to all of these terms in order to participate. Failure to comply puts the health of our instructors, families, and participants at risk. Therefore, anyone in violation of these policies may be required to leave the premises at the sole discretion of The Board. Continued refusal may result in dismissal from SCLP without a refund of any membership dues, tuition, or supply costs.

Photo & Media release

SCLP volunteers may take photographs and/or video recordings of SCLP activities. Adult and child members may be highlighted in efforts to promote the SCLP’s activities and community. For example, students may be featured in materials to recruit members and/or teachers and to increase public awareness of our cooperative on our public-facing website, newsletter, Facebook pages, and other forms of social media. Keep in mind that SCLP cannot control the use of images taken by others who may be onsite during SCLP activities. Furthermore, your images may be shared in our member-only online groups.

On the Family Membership Form, you will be given two options: I consent; or I do not consent. I understand this applies only to SCLP's use of my family's images in public-facing media.

Parent-student cooperative

You must stay on site. SCLP is a parent-student cooperative. It is not a drop-off program. At all times, your child is your responsibility.

SCLP's Code of Conduct, as described in the Member Handbook, expects all participants to abide by the following:

  1. I will be kind.

  2. I will be respectful of my classmates, teachers, and SCLP members.

  3. I will consider others' feelings and physical safety.

  4. I will take care of my own property and that of the SCLP and others.

  5. Others may look different than me, act different than me, or have different strengths or weaknesses. I will accept these differences respectfully.

  6. If I make a mistake or am unsure what to do, I will ask for help.

  7. If others make a mistake, I will give them patience and try to help them fix it.

Unconditional & full release, waiver & indemnification agreement

SCLP is a nonprofit homeschool cooperative that organizes classes, events and activities, including free play, (collectively “Activities”) at G.T. Bray Park in Bradenton, FL and Unity of Sarasota in Sarasota, FL, and other locations (collectively “Facilities”). “My Family” as used in this form includes every member of your family that will be present at SCLP’s activities.

In consideration of the SCLP allowing participation in the Activities, I hereby agree as follows:

Assumption of Risk – I, on my own behalf and as parent/guardian of the minors in my Family, hereby agree to, and grant the permission necessary for my Family to, participate in the Activities and expressly assume all the known and unknown risks inherent in the Activities (which may include, without limitation, property damage or loss, minor and major injuries, permanent disability, and death). We understand that SCLP does not require participation in any activity or class and we will elect to participate only in activities in which we can safely participate. We agree to cover any medical expenses for our family.

Release and Indemnification – I, my Family and guests hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue SCLP, its directors, officers, volunteers, instructors, and agents, or SCLP’s chosen venue or the agents of said venue (collectively, “Releasees”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, my Family or guests, or to any property belonging to me, my Family or guests, while participating in the Activities, or while in, on or upon the premises where such activities are being conducted, whether such loss is caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise and regardless of whether such liability arises in tort, contract, strict liability, or otherwise, to the fullest extent allowed by law (collectively, “Claims”).

We further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Releasees from and against all such Claims, including, without limitation, court costs and attorneys' fees, that Releasees may incur due to our participation in said activities, whether caused by negligence of Releasees or otherwise, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Supervision – As parent or guardian of my child(ren), I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for my Family and that Releasees cannot and will not be responsible for my Family before, during or after the Activities.

Interpretation & Jurisdiction – It is our express intent that this Agreement shall bind the members of my family, spouse, heirs, assigns, and personal representatives, and shall be deemed as a release, waiver, discharge and covenant not to sue the above-named Releasees. It contains the entire agreement with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous agreement. It shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Any mediation, suit, or other proceeding relating to the terms of this Agreement must be filed in Florida.
